Youth Scrabble In Africa

Scrabble has gained quite a lot of grounds over the years in Africa. With the continent already boasting of a World Champion, it became apparent that for the continent to breed more future champions, it had to invest in the Youths.

Youth Scrabble is now beginning to grow in Africa. Visits to countries like Nigeria, Kenya, Liberia, South Africa amongst others will point to this fact. Tournaments abound in these countries where youths are groomed into becoming the next World Champion.

Through the game of Scrabble, the kids learn the application of strategies early in life, this helps develop their mental thought process. Playing the game, they build a good social bond with other kids while strenghtening their vocabulary in the process.

Africa is still lacking a Continental Championship for the Youths and it is the hope of PANASA to find a sponsor for this category in 2023.
